Strange Signal Discovered I was just thinking about how we think we know a lot about space, but maybe we really don’t. What prompted me to come to this conclusion was the fact we are receiving a different kind of radio signal coming from space which we have never received before. Some scientists think it is an indication there is some kind of object in space we have never seen and know nothing about. This is of course supposition. An unknown radio signal could mean many different things in my mind. First of all, it could mean if indeed it does indicate an object, the signal might have been altered by something it passed through getting here. One thing which could be fooling scientists is the fact the signal could be some sort of signal or communication. If it is, the race which launched it at the time could not have been any more advanced than we are now because radio waves are slow and only travel at the speed of light, so if it is some sort of communication or signal, that race could be long gone or far more advanced by now. Proof of the slowness was exhibited by where our radio and television broadcasts have gotten in space. We have been broadcasting for a little over a century. A news program was broadcast on August 31. 1920. That means this broadcast has reached about a diameter of 200 light years around the earth with each broadcast spreading out from the surface of the planet for 100 light years. The signal we are talking about is coming from the center of the Milky Way. That center is about 24,000 light years away from us. Another thing to note is the center of the Milky Way is very chaotic. The chance for the existence of life there may be much less than where we are located in the galaxy. On top of that the signal is doing something strange. It is only traveling in one direction which is not strange, but that direction changes which is very unusual. Yes, it could be an object which is different than one ever discovered before, but it could also be some sort of cloud of gas or material we can’t see. Perhaps an unknown type of nebula or gas cloud could be the culprit? We have been discovering quite a few strange things in physics like time crystals. Maybe we have found something similar in space. A time crystal is both stable and ever changing at the same time. It is a new phase of matter so we know it exists, what we don’t know is could there be any object in space made from them. One thing which has always puzzled us is why space seems to be drawn outward. There have been many guesses on this subject and one of them states there could be black hole like objects, but far larger drawing our universe to them. If correct this would mean we eventually would be destroyed with the rest of the universe. On the other hand, this is only a guess, because we really do not know what awaits us beyond the universe. Could there be black holes which swallow up certain kinds of matter and then spit out signals of a type we have never seen before? Maybe there are even black holes of a type which are not the same and give off signals and we don’t know it yet. There is a huge black hole in the center of the Milky Way and perhaps it could be playing a part in this unusual signal. There are things in space which scientists say they know exist, and yet they have never been seen. One of these things is glueballs. What is a glueball you might ask? They are bundles of particles made entirely of force. Scientists are adamant they exist, yet no one has ever seen one and no experiment has been designed to detect them. If an object made of glueballs was big enough and in the center of our galaxy, would it give off a strange signal? I have no idea, but maybe it would and that signal would be so unusual as to never have been seen or heard before. We have never seen a wormhole, but we believe they exist. Could they exist and under certain circumstances put out a signal? Maybe there is a wormhole at the center of our galaxy and it is sending out a signal? Would this be such a crazy idea? According to current thinking there might be thousands of wormholes through out the universe. If this is true maybe going through one, even if a heavenly object falls through, sets off a signal. For many years some scientists have believed there are white holes, yet no one has directly seen one. It used to be said a white hole was the exit on a black hole where the material came out which was swallowed by the black hole. Depending on what the black hole swallowed, could it cause a white hole to emit a signal? Another thing we have never seen, but which has been theorized is a rip in space. This concept may be a little harder to handle because you first have to believe space is something which can rip and there are other universes. Some scientists say it might be possible there is at least one rip in the fabric of space and something is pouring in from other universes. Depending on what comes through the rip, there might be some sort of signal emitted. There is also the chance something so unusual is at the center of the universe we have absolutely no idea what the object is. This leads to other ideas about that. Could it be an object which came from a prior universe and remained while the Big Bang took place? We certainly may not be on the first universe ever formed. There could have been millions or billions of universes before us. We used to believe in the Oscillating Universe theory and some still do. This is where there is a Big Bang and the universe eventually comes back into a relatively tiny mass and then explodes again. Could there be some objects that for some reason don’t get drawn back? They just sit out in space until the next explosion allows the new stars and such to catch up to them, because they are not subject to the expansion and if so, could they be putting out a signal? I don’t know the answers to this stuff, but it is fun to speculate.
