Electromagnetic Waves Surrounding Us Things have gotten very strange for us on this planet. The new technology which we have acquired in the last century and after, has caused all sorts of waves in our atmosphere. When I say waves I am talking about waves across the entire spectrum, such as radio waves, micro waves, light waves and a lot more. There are so many waves surrounding us today we can’t even be sure of what all of them are or do. Many people think some of them might have an adverse effect on us. How many times have we been told cell phones should not be held close to our heads and we should use an ear piece? The reason for this is the phones are really radio sets and radio waves are being sent to them and there is a theory which states constant bombardment of radio waves to our heads can cause cancer and maybe other maladies. Unfortunately this is only one type of wave I am talking about. The waves around us contain energy and we are surrounded by them. This is a big difference from our ancestors who lived in the days before radio. Just image if we had some sort of super computer which was programmed to note the differences between our bodies now and the bodies of our pre radio ancestors. What would we find out? We might find there is a lot more cancer per percentage of the population, but on the other hand we might find out we are either unaffected or we gained some unknown benefit from the waves. Perhaps it might turn out some types of waves are responsible for killing some germs which were harmful to us. There is actually no way to know anything unless every type of wave is analyzed. We are a strange society when you think about it. We dump our car exhausts into the air we breathe, we fill our atmosphere with waves without knowing what harm they could cause, we are told if we want to know if food is genetically altered we should look for packages which say that particular food is not and we pollute the water we need to drink and fish in. Our atmosphere has protected us from many different waves approaching us from space, but it is hard to protect us from waves we are creating on earth and maybe even impossible. In the last decade or so there has been a lot of talk about the United States and Russia both developing devices which dump certain types of electromagnetic waves into the atmosphere which have the intended purpose of creating and steering powerful storms at an enemy. I remember when a very powerful tornado hit a few years back, one reporter surmised it was the Russians testing out their new weather weapon. There was no proof that they had a weather weapon so this was speculation at best. Electromagnetic waves differ because of the fact they range in size from smaller than an atom to bigger than a large building. They can be detected by their length, energy and frequency. When we take prescription medicine we are told to be very careful not to mix certain ones together, because this could make them harmful, but is mixing some waves together causing them to be harmful to us? One cannot have a meaningful discussion about the waves we dump into our atmosphere without mentioning the U.S. project H.A.A.R.P. A lot of bad things have been said about this project, but the U.S. has defended it claiming it is only a communications device. H.A.A.R.P. stands for High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program. It is basically a field full of antennas which are capable of breaching the ionosphere. The stated purpose is to be able to send a signal through the breach allowing for clearer and better communications. Others have said the real purpose is to be able to control the weather. There are several H.A.A.R.P. stations around the world. Others who think we are being told the truth still feel it is very dangerous to make holes in the ionosphere, because they are weakening the protective barrier around the earth which keeps things like cosmic rays away from us. Some have said they know the United States used H.A.A.R.P. to cause earthquakes and snow storms while they were testing the device. There is a device known as the Large Hadron Collider, which is an atom smasher. This device has a magnet which is 100,000 times more powerful than the earth’s magnetic field. Some wonder what the magnetic waves from this will eventually do to the earth’s magnetic field. The earth’s magnetic field protects the planets from things like killer electrons and such. There are those who are very interested in seeing how the earth’s magnetic field changes when the huge magnets at the Large Hadron Collider are turned on. It takes months for them to warm up to room temperature before this can happen. I have no way to verify this, but one supposedly knowledgeable source stated the system was not constructed with safety options for every contingency. As a matter of fact there was an explosion in 2008 which only stopped because a pressure wave was created in the area where there was a shut off button and this is what shut down the system. It was not shut down by animated safety features or human intervention but by a freak happenstance. It is believed by many the most dangerous waves we release into the atmosphere are radioactive. The human body is radioactive to a degree. Radiation has been described as bullets making holes in the biological life it comes into contact with. There are been quite a few radioactive leaks from nuclear power plants and this will continue to happen as long as we use fission nuclear plants to generate electricity. Many waves we think are harmless really have had their names simplified. An example of this are Radio Waves. This sounds harmless doesn’t it, but how do you feel when I tell you what they are called, electromagnetic radiation? I would like to finish this article with a list of many of the different types of waves surrounding us and /or the devices that put them out. They are: Many different long wave, medium wave and short wave radio broadcasts along with UHF, television signals, microwave signals, UHF mobile phone signals, VHF emergency radio signals, waves from remote controls, microwave GPS navigation signals, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, lasers, infrared, wireless security sensors, garage door openers, remote locking and opening car doors, radio interference generated by computers and oscillators, random RFI due to electrical discharges, household equipment, power tools and spark plugs. |
