Dark Watchers

There are a lot of mysterious things many of us have never heard of. Some have to so with ancient races, others are more like legends but some have been credited with mysterious happenings. The Dark Watchers seem to fit into this category. Many say these are beings of which their origins are unknown and they come and go without leaving a trace or even a footprint. Others say they know where the Dark Watchers come from and they cite the Santa Lucia Mountains which run through San Luis Obispo California to Monterey California. The Dark Watchers are said to be giant beings. Sometimes Dark Watchers are equated with shadow people. There are quite a few of us who have seen this type of thing and this is one of the reasons so many people are interested in the paranormal. I am not saying it is the only reason, but it is one of the main ones. I have to admit I myself saw this phenomena

while lying in bed one night. I have mentioned this before, but it is worth mentioning it again because others have written me to tell me they have seen the same thing. It was late at night, my bedroom was pitch black and the windows covered by heavy curtains and there was no light coming in to the room. Suddenly I woke up and saw a shadow which was so dark it even stood out in the completely dark room. The shadow had no source. It slowly drifted across the back wall of the bedroom and drifted into the closed and disappeared. I have never seen anything that dark in my entire life.

Are Dark Watchers and shadow people the same? I have no way of answering this question. Some say they can take different forms and are not always in shadow form. Others say you can only see the Dark Watchers at twilight when their forms are silhouetted against the sky. While they are being watched there comes a point, according to those who claim to have seen them, where they just evaporate without a trace. This brings to mind the mirages in the desert which seem to be there, but are really projections of places which exist in other areas and which can disappear as fast as they appear. Is the area where these creatures are supposedly being seen conducive to some sort of mirage we are not familiar with and are people actually seeing beings which exist in some other area being projected into the landscape by these mountains? The Chumash Indians reported seeing these beings in their legends and in their cave paintings.

It is said the Dark Watchers take no interest in us and even when they are seen they pay no attention to us. A principal of a school was on a hike in the Santa Lucia Mountains. As he climbed he noticed a giant man standing ahead of him who seemed to be looking at the mountains and paying no attention to him. The figure was very dark. He studied the figure for a few seconds and called out to the hikers with him, but the figure disappeared before the others could see it. Had he seen a Dark Watcher or was he seeing something else? He believed it was indeed a watcher. One person claimed to have been a passenger in a car which was being driven along a road near the same mountains. When the person looked out the passenger window he saw a large dark figure dressed in a hooded robe and holding on to a staff. The driver also noticed the figure.

Are there a race of human like beings which inhabit the earth we don’t know about? Here is the thing about the Dark Watchers, they seem to have been around for many thousands of years. Even the term Dark Watchers was created by the Romans. They thought these beings were animal guardians or supernatural beings equivalent to a spirit or ghost. The author John Steinbeck mentioned them in a short story. There is another name which is sometimes used to describe the Dark Watchers and it is The Old Ones. Why would anyone decide to call them that? This would seem to indicate they were here, even before humans. Could the Dark Watchers or The Old Ones be a race of beings which appeared on the earth before we did and are still here? Others think they may be aliens which colonized this planet or were marooned here. They don’t seem to be hostile and don’t seem to be interested in us at all to the point it almost seems they cannot see or hear us. There are probably those who believe these creatures are evil, because many times man believes this of things he doesn’t understand, but since they pay no heed to us, it is hard to believe this is true.

There was an interesting theory based upon what people have seen in the ancient Roman catacombs. It has been said that there are quite a few people who have seen and heard a group of Roman soldiers marching through said catacombs. What makes this even weirder, they report they saw them do the same things over and over. A theory has been put forth which states the material in the wall may have acted like a recording device and somehow when Roman soldiers did march through there, their march was recorded and it plays over like a movie when conditions are just right for this. It is known that crystals can be used for recording, but as far as I know no one has ever proved anything from nature has been recorded on them, yet we have to wonder if the Dark Watchers are somehow recordings of things past and that is why they pay no attention to anyone and just fade out.

One curious thing is the fact the watchers are only sighted at night. It cannot be told if their appearances are strictly random or there is some reason which directs their appearance. There is no way to know if they show up when no one is there unless we set up cameras. Several witnesses have said they have seen the Dark Watchers wearing a dark hat and cape. Spanish explorers who came to this country saw the Dark Watchers as did a troop of Mexican soldiers. It is pretty hard to ignore sighting when there are so many witnesses. On the other hand just because a group of people see something it doesn’t mean they are seeing what they think they are.

Dark Watchers are just one mystery in our world, there are certainly many more. Perhaps the watchers are connected to something else and we do not realize it. They may not even be beings but something else entirely and we are just not realizing it.
