The Skinwalker Ranch
Did you ever hear about a place called Skinwalker Ranch? It is said to be one of the creepiest places on earth, and all sorts of strange things are happening there, according to quite a few witnesses. Skinwalker Ranch is also known as Sherman Ranch. George Knapp, the famous UFO reporter ran a series of stories about the ranch and explained some of the strange events which have taken place there. When I first heard the name, it made me think about the legend of a super vampire who could walk around in the daytime. That was not why the ranch was named that, it had to do with an old Navajo legend about evil witches. The ranch is located near the town of Ballard in Utah. It is large, being almost 500 acres.
Some Indian tribes believe in curses, and that extends to a curse which is believed to have been put on the area by the Navajos. It is said the Ute people are forbidden from even setting foot on the ranch. Years ago, it had been purchased by the Sherman family. It is also said the family was not really named Sherman, but used this name to protect themselves. The family stayed on the ranch for two years, but events there terrorized them to the point they finally left. When the family moved in, they discovered there were deadbolts on all the doors and windows, and some were on both sides. You have to admit this is really strange. What makes the Skinwalker ranch so strange is it is not only a place where aliens and UFOs have been reported, but many things which are considered paranormal. Some have said there is no other spot on earth with as much paranormal activity.
In 1990 the ranch had become a place where mysterious cattle mutilations began to take place. Not only are cattle mutilations upsetting, because they seem beyond the capabilities of any one on earth due to their precision, but they are very expensive since cattle cost a lot of money. The Sherman family went to the newspapers about this and talked to anyone in authority who would listen. Crop circles appeared in the pastures and in the soil, exhibiting strange patterns. Were extraterrestrials trying to leave a message for the family? Some believed the extraterrestrials wanted to make the place famous so their presence would be believed.
These strange events didn’t start when the Sherman family moved in however. They began to be noted in the early 1950s. If one were to speak with the local residents who live near the ranch they would tell you UFOs were seen flying over the ranch that far back. Investigators have said there is a magnetic anomaly on the Skinwalker ranch. Whether this would have anything to do with UFO sightings, or anything else is anyone’s guess. As famous as Skinwalker ranch is, there is another ranch near it named Moonshadow Ranch which is also said to be a hotbed of strange activity. It is believed by some there are portals located around Skinwalker ranch. This has been evidenced by people seeing “doors” opening in the air above them and light shining through them. There are also claims of creatures coming through them. One of the creatures which is said to have entered through a door was a bigfoot.
When the Sherman family lived on the property they saw out-worldly animals and birds walking on the property. I am sure this scared the heck out of them, because these were animals and birds which were never seen on the earth before. It was as if they had come from somewhere else, and perhaps they did. Maybe they also came through the “doors”, which were believed to be portals. What were these portals? It was believed they were something like stargates where something could come from another world no matter how far away if it also had a portal. Some scientists today think if a portal was to exist it might be based somehow on the theory of entangled atoms, where a change in one atom happens instantly to the other entangled atom no matter the distance. Investigators also believe due to the magnetic abnormality it might make it easier for a portal to function in this area.
The family had seen a disturbance and went to investigate, and it turned out to be a wolf attacking one of the cattle. The wolf was shot multiple times, but strangely it had no effect on the wolf. The shots kept coming and after the wolf had been shot six times the wolf finally left, seemingly unhurt. This led to the fact of people claiming it was a werewolf, which can only be hurt by silver bullets. This was just another unsettling situation at the ranch which the Sherman family witnessed.
The government paid for an investigation into the UFOs in the area, and it was found they had no relationship to any aircraft from this planet. Besides mutilated cattle the Sherman family suffered disappearing cattle which were never found again. One of the things I think which was very interesting is the fact there was an officer in the government who was sent out to investigate unusual discoveries and inventions which the government thought might be useful. He was a US Army Colonel named John B. Alexander. It is important to note he was sent to the Skinwalker ranch to investigate. Apparently, the U.S. government must have thought there might be something to what was being reported. Strange lights were reported all over the area at night. Robert Bigelow later purchased the ranch. Bigelow is the CEO of Bigelow Aerospace. Ownership of the ranch is a little fuzzy now, but it seems to be owned by Adamantium Real Estate who requested more security from the county due to the fame of the ranch, and the amount of people trying to sneak on to the property. Some people in the area are more concerned with the trespassers and the damage they cause than with any extraterrestrials.
It is being said the activity on the ranch has almost all disappeared. Is this true, or is it being said to keep strangers away? It is hard to believe a place which has been reported as being so active for many decades would suddenly stop being active. It seems there are no more mysterious balls of light floating over the property, and nary an alien creature has been seen since the early 2000s. Have we lost a place which was once called one of the most active paranormal places on earth?
