News 31 July 2021 A lot of strange things have been going on. One of them was an extremely old map which was found. It turned out to be the oldest geological map ever found. It was found in Egypt and was dated to 1150 B.C. It would have been impressive enough if that was all to it, but the maker of the map added his own touches. It was made during the time of Ramses IV. "This map is a guide to the stone quarries and gold mines of a 15 kilometer (9.3 miles) stretch of Egypt's Eastern Desert.” The map indicates what type of ore or stone is located in different places. Different colors were used. Sedimentary rocks are indicated by black. Igneous rocks by pink. Gold mines are indicated as is gravel. I think one could say whoever made the map was ahead of their time. It was just an ordinary small building located in St. George, Utah. One day the tenant and others started to hear strange noises. The noises sounded like cracking coming from the roof. The building was only a one floor building and the owner thought someone was on the roof, but this was not the case. A little while later a small tremor was felt. The store was emptied of its occupants. The entire building vibrated during the tremor. The fire department was called in to investigate the building. Several roof trusses had been damaged and they could have caused the building to collapse. The fire chief said if the building continues to move and gets enough pressure on it, it could fall down. The owner of the building has called in an engineer to find out what is going on. Biblical arguments have been going on ever since the bible was written. The arguments sometimes are about whether the stories in the bible are only lessons or are true. The testament states Jeremiah warned the residents of Jerusalem they were going to be attacked by the Babylonians but instead of listening to his warning, he was thrown into a dungeon. Historical documents have been found which are dated to that time and one had a seal on it. They provide evidence the story is true. So much in the old testament is being authenticated which has been doubted in the past. There is a famous disc name the Phaistos Disc. It has baffled scientists ever since it was discovered. Most believe it is an authentic relic but some do not. Previously it had never been deciphered because the language on it is unknown. Recently some scientists said they have been able to do this for 99 percent of the disc. They had found a similarity between ancient Minoan and some other ancient languages. It was enough for them to figure out what it was all about. One scientist had devoted 30 years to the project. It turned out it was a sort of hymn to the Minoan goddess of love. Her name was Astarte. The date of the disc is now believed to be the second millennium B.C. We think emojis are relatively new, but are they? A recent find seemed to prove they are not. The world’s oldest emoji has been found and it is an ancient smile face. It was drawn on a 3,700 year old jug. The jug is now residing in a museum in Turkey. There is a cathedral in Russia which has a fascinating story attached to it. In 1812 Napoleon’s army invaded Moscow and removed almost all of the silver. They looted the silver in the Assumption Cathedral, but not all of it. The tomb with relics of Metropolitan Jonah remained. It remained for a very strange reason. It is said the saint appeared before the French army waving his fist and they decided it was too dangerous to violate his tomb and left that silver intact. The silver which was looted from the church was recaptured after the French had melted it down and today there is a chandelier in the church cast from that silver. A new machine, which is said to be the biggest machine ever made, was built by the Dutch. It uses a new type of light to create computer chips. Its use is for ultra-small circuitry. Without this machine others will not currently be able to compete in the field. This machine costs 150 million dollars and takes 40 shipping containers, 20 trucks and 3 Boeing 747s to move. China was blocked from buying it by the Trump administration. So far, the block is still on as of the writing of this article. While being the largest machine, it is said to also be the most complicated. The United Kingdom now has a program to release beavers in London. The government states it is part of an urban rewilding program. They will be taken to Northern London. There happens to be a large marshland there which was felt would be desirable for the animals. Beavers were extinct in the U.K. until 2013 when a family of beavers was found in the Otter River, in Devon, England. A five year study was then began to see how beavers affected other wildlife. They are herbivores and it was found they help in filtering the water. They also helped to create new wetlands. Lastly, they were found to prevent flooding. In other words, beavers are helpful creatures. A U.S. senator wants a review of the Internal Revenue Service’s data security. One can surely not blame him with all the ransom ware attacks lately. We are being inundated in hacking attacks of all types lately and things are only getting worse. The truth is most of us alive today have been victims and our data is in the hands of criminals. If we haven’t been attacked it is only because the criminals are going after richer prizes. As I have said repeatedly, we need stronger laws and treaties to protect people in all countries. Quantum computers are huge, similar in size to some of the antique classical computers. Just as the classical computers have shrunk in size, soon the quantum computers will begin this process, thanks to a new smaller device which is a cold atom source and has much less power consumption. Some people believe pollution is aging people prematurely. We all know pollution is not good for us or for our planet. Scientists are saying pollution is correlated to signs of skin aging, hyperpigmentation, age spots and wrinkles. As soot particles increased, they noticed people had 20 percent more age spots on their foreheads and cheeks.
