Global Warming is Happening and it is Dangerous

There are certain times something has to be said and now is one of those times. Global warming is a real thing and it is getting out of hand. Temperatures all over the earth are breaking records. Some will say then how come the winters are so cold, but what they don’t realize is global warming can cause temperatures to temporarily get cold. Let me explain this. The ice at the poles is melting from the bottom up as the water gets warmer. The ice cap continues to get thinner every year and as it melts it puts cold air into the atmospheres which creates a cold temperature. It is like putting ice into a drink it will keep the drink cold for a time but will get thinner and thinner until it disappears entirely and then you drink begins to get hot.

If things keep going this way eventually our winters will get much warmer until winter feels like summer and summer becomes unbearable. This got me to thinking. I knew that some governments were creating underground shelters which were more like cities and looked more like permanent instillations than anything else. We were told they were to guard the IMPORTANT part of the population, the politicians and high-ranking military from nuclear attack, but is it possible that is not the true intention of these structures? Are they being constructed to shield them from scorching temperatures? Perhaps the government knows something we don’t and it could be that global warming comes about every so often in the global scheme of things.

It turns out there have been several cycles of heating and cooling on the earth in the last 650,000 years. We don’t hear much about this. It is said the earth’s orbit changes slightly every so often and this changes the amount of solar energy the earth receives. The last ice age ended about 7,000 years ago. Human activity is now being blamed for most of the warming this time around. Whether we would have had global warming this time without human activity is debatable but we have had it before without it. What is being said however is scientists have found through examining ice cores, tree rings and other means that we are heating up ten times faster than in the past. It doesn’t take much of a temperature rise for the earth to change everything. Our global temperature is said to have risen 1.6 degrees Fahrenheit since the 19th century and look at what has happened. Besides the rise in temperature other signs point to global warming and they are warming oceans, shrinking ice, decreased snow cover, glaciers retreating and the rise in sea levels.

Many different ideas have been put forth to stop global warming but unfortunately most of them seem to interfere with businesses and their profits. Take cutting down of carbon emissions for example. Millions of dollars of special scrubbing equipment are needed on chimneys and such and making less product also cuts into profits. No matter how much proof appears proving global warming many companies and many in government continue to deny it exists. They know it does but they think admitting it will make them have to do things which are bad for business. I wonder if a dead planet is bad for business?

Some believe it is too late to stop the global warming, but again that is debatable. Some emissions are not caused by factories and such but by the way we live. Take our food chain for example. Cattle are responsible for more emissions of methane than anyone expected. They spew out 39 percent of all gases connected with agriculture. These emissions are increasing. Developing countries are eating more meat meaning more cattle are needed thus more gas will be produced. Scientists think livestock emissions are responsible for 14.5 to 18 percent of total global greenhouse gas which is more than all the cars. Some scientists deny this and say automobiles are worse but car exhausts have been getting cleaner all the time. The most important point here is both animals and autos are contributing to greenhouse gases along with factories and other sources.

Everyone knows Death Valley in the United States is a really hot place. The previous record was set in 2017 but it has gotten even hotter this year. Last month in July 2018 Death Valley had an average temperature of 108.1 degrees Fahrenheit. Can you imagine being in that heat? It has had much higher temperatures in the past but never this high an average for an entire month. Yes, I did pick a place which has extremely high temperatures so I guess I will have to look at some other places if I want to prove my point. So, let’s look at the temperatures at the North Pole. It is hard to believe but temperature went above freezing during the winter at the North Pole. They have reached 35 degrees Fahrenheit. To some this may sound cold, but you have to realize I am talking about a place which is know for very cold temperatures. The temperature has reached 50 degrees above normal there. The highest temperatures ever for that area were reached in February 2018. This seems to be happening more and more and they also seem to be lasting longer than ever before.

A vicious heat wave has hit Japan. It is so hot there the government has recommended that people in Japan use umbrellas to keep the sun off of them. A town named Kumagaya which is only 40 miles from Tokyo began to broil when the temperature hit 106 degrees Fahrenheit breaking the record. It was almost as hot as Death Valley which is one of the hottest places on earth. Tokyo also broke their heat record with a record temperature of 105.4 degrees Fahrenheit. Quite a few people died in Japan because of this heat wave. The last time I checked the number was 77 but it is probably more by now. The authorities said they had to send over 30,000 people to hospitals during the heat wave.

The Iberian Peninsula was hit with a terrible heat wave. This covered several countries including Spain and Portugal. Temperatures as of the writing of this article are expected to reach 116.6 degrees Fahrenheit in some areas of southern Portugal. High heat warnings have been issued in 40 of Spain’s 50 provinces. The town of Beja in Portugal is expected to his 116.6 degrees Fahrenheit this weekend.

So, does anyone still doubt global warming isn’t taking place? Are those underground facilities which are being built to protect from a nuclear strike or more likely to protect from blistering heat? Traditionally even houses constructed a little below the ground were much cooler than those above. Scientists are saying by 2,100 there will be countries and parts of countries which will not be habitable because the temperatures will be so high humans would all die. They are Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and others. How hot could it get? Are you sitting down, you better? It could get as high as 170 degrees Fahrenheit.
