Things That Make Me Unhappy

I have talked about how our data is at peril many times. I have just found out at the writing of this article over sixty more firms, including hospitals and medical billing firms have been hit by hacking done through a computer program which they have no protection against. We might as well just hand over our personal data to the criminals and be done with it.

One organization which is counting cyberattacks on a daily basis states there are at least 2,200 every day. This doesn’t count all those phone calls and emails which are there just to try and pry money out of us. It seems things are only going to get worse in these areas. Since the United States is the most prosperous country and even though we are slipping in that area, we probably experience the most criminal activity relating to our computers, the internet, phones and emails.

There is something going on which I also find very upsetting. As you my readers know, I am a believer in UAPs and want to know as much about them as I can possibility find out. I find it exasperating, after finally getting to the point where we had some UAP data which the government admits to and congress has examined many whistleblowers who confirm UAPs are alien and the government knows this, and yet there are representatives in the House who are trying to stop UAP transparency. To think we have finally gotten this far and now some of our elected officials are trying to knock us back again is truly aggravating.

One of the things which really annoys me is when I have to deal with a company through a website. Sometimes they don’t even have a phone number listed and you have to use that annoying chat bot to try and find out how to contact them. So many times, it seems you are asked to select a category and none fit the problem you are inquiring about. I was on one the other day and was made to jump through hoops and in the end it just disconnected me. Another maddening thing is when you do reach someone and ask them if you get cut off, can they call you back and they tell you they are not allowed to do that. Guess what, sometimes you do get cut off.

One would think that a big company would make sure the people they are hiring to answer the problems would actually speak and understand English even if they are not in America. Oh, if that were only true. I am so tired of having to say excuse me could you say that again several times. There is even more to this complaint however, many times this is accompanied by bad connections. I was trying to talk to someone about a software problem and the volume kept decreasing and then I was cut off and there was no return call, so I had to go through the same thing all over again with someone else who had a little better command of the English language.

I am also tired of ordering things online and not getting what I ordered. Oh, I might get the item, but sometimes it is of no use to me. Let me give you an example. I ordered a tray from a company which they guaranteed would fit my NuWave Air Fryer. When it came it looked the same until I tried to fit in into the fryer. It was short on the length so it didn’t fit into the tracks. As I get older, yes I am very old, I am getting too lazy to pack things back up, and have to mail them back. I kept the tray and used it for something else. I am also tired of ordering clothes online that don’t fit. One brand size fits fine, yet another is too tight. That has happened with jackets, pants and shoes. That never happens when I go to an actual store because you can try them on before you buy. Yes, there are some advantages to a brick and mortor store.

Recently my cell phone company which I had for years was bought over by another company. I never had any problems with the original company. I was promised the bill would go down for the same amount of service. I was told I would get unlimited text, calls, 10 gigs of data and 5 gigs of hot spot data. I had it for 2 days before I really had to use data. I was on a trip and plugged my phone into the car’s screen and voila, no data. It was a long trip and this made things very hard.

The next day I called the company on my home phone and spent hours without any results. They finally told me I had to call AT&T who ran their cell towers. I did and they couldn’t find the cause. I called the cell phone company back and told them I was going with a different company and the reply was they were going to charge me for an extra month while I waited for my new company to send me their sim card because I was porting the number over, even though their phone never worked properly.

Sometimes I feel like I am a pinata. It seems to me years ago businesses tried harder to please their customers. If something didn’t work properly or didn’t fit right you would get an apology and the company would try and solve the problem. Today I feel they hope you and your problem will just go away. If the companies really cared about the customers, they would set thing sup initially so they could be helpful if something goes wrong.

For example, everyone knows when ordering things that are a certain size, depending on who makes them, the sizes differ.

While shopping on line can be very convenient, it can also have its drawbacks. If you have to make a return, you might have to take your return package to a shipper. Some will pick up at your home, but not all. Then there is the lost package and the misdelivered one. It can get annoying. Amazon handles this pretty well, but some others do not.

Lastly there are websites which advertise objects and show photos of what you are buying, but when the item comes it is nothing like what was pictured. Recently an advertiser on Facebook advertised a sale on a supposed nail clipper for 49 dollars. I thought this was a scam so I decided to check out Amazon and there was the same nail clipper, I mean the exact same one for 9 dollars.
