Ancient Structural Mysteries
One of the reasons civilization has progressed so fast in the last couple of centuries is the advancement in tools. I am talking about all tools both scientific and general. The advancement in tools has been a boon to home owners, and they have allowed them to do things themselves that years ago would have required a contractor. When I talk about tools, I am talking about the tiniest used for microscopic work to the biggest like the Large Hadron Atom Smasher which takes up about 20 miles.
Just about everything we use is a tool, even when we don’t think of it that way. Let me give you an example. You have to get somewhere, which is 100 miles away, in the 1800s, so you get on your horse which averages about 20 miles a day unless it is pushed hard. Today you get in your car and do the trip in a couple of hours. If you are lucky enough to own a plane, you might do the trip in 30 minutes or so. The car and the plane are both tools used to get you to your destination. I bet you usually never thought of your car as a tool? I have to tell you what I said some may feel stretches the definition of a tool in most dictionaries, but some do refer to using devices.
The definition of a tool usually refers to smaller instruments. Here is one definition of it, a device or implement, especially one held in the hand, used to carry out a particular function. That car or plane I spoke about are devices. The definition of a device is a thing made or adapted for a particular purpose, especially a piece of mechanical or electronic equipment.
Can you imagine what the ancients could have built if they would have had modern tools? They built the Great Pyramid with what they had, which wasn’t much. Not only that, it was built to an accuracy we would have a hard time matching today. But wait a second, there are ancient places on earth where there are constructions which could not have been built without advanced tools.
Pumapunka is located in Brazil. I rate it as one of the most mysterious sites in the world and as far as its age is concerned, some believe it is even pre-flood. Others think it is much newer, dating to the 6th century A.D. Pumapunka could not have been built without advanced tools and I am talking about tools more advanced than ours today. First even though it is a ruin, there is enough material scattered around to see how the blocks were made and these blocks still have sharp edges on them. The blocks fit together and each block is an exact copy of the other. On the blocks can be seen different cuts, without any indication of how this was done. Even today our tools would have made marks on the stones from abrasions while they were being cut. It seems the only way this could have been done is with some sort of laser. There are also holes drilled on an angle going all the way through the blocks. This begs the question, was there an advanced race with advanced tools?
Let’s go back even further in time to Gobekli Tepe in Turkey. This site is composed of a large group of circular temples with carved columns that dates back as far as 12,000 years. Let me ask you a question, do you think there were any tools back then that were not made from stones or wood? Only about 10% of the site has been dug out. Archaeologists are sure of one thing, which is the site was covered over on purpose. Now I want to talk about the T shaped columns. Each circular temple was believed to have a roof of some sort at one time. The columns or pillars are made of very hard stone. Here is the most amazing part, animals and other things were carved perfectly on the pillars. This could not have been done without tools and nothing existed back then for them to use. The first copper tools were said to have appeared in 5,500 B.C. and copper was far too soft to use in carving the pillars. On top of this, it would have taken many years to create these temples and yet this was at a time when we were all said to be hunter gatherers and couldn’t stay in one place too long because the food would run out. There seems to be no rational explanation for these carvings.
Another ancient structure stands atop an even more ancient platform. I am talking about the temple at Baalbek. The platform contains one of the very largest stones ever moved and lifted into place. The stone quarry has a stone which was being worked on and its weight is 1650 tons, making it the heaviest stone ever quarried. How were they going to move it? The platform contains three famous stones which form the platform for the Temple of Jupiter. They weigh between 750 to 800 tons, and yet they were moved to the platform for the temple and lifted into place as I said. What tools could have been used for this? A Roman crane could only lift between 1 and 1.5 tons and the platform was built before their time.
Another place which amazes me is in Turkey. It is called Derinkuyu. The two guesses as to the age of the city of Derinkuyu are either it was dug out by the Hittites in 2,000 B.C. or the Phrygians around 700 B.C. The city holds about 20,000 people and all their animals, food and water. It is several levels deep. Can you imagine people who only had primitive shovels digging out a whole city? The chances are the shovels were made of wood. This was possible because the ground was made of soft volcanic rock, but the scale of it is unimaginable. The planning was also incredible and the city has vents for air and a cistern where water would be held.
There are quite a few other ancient places where nobody can give an accepted explanation on how the ancients built the structures they did and how they decorated them with beautiful carvings before the advent of metal tools. It seems the only answer could be some advanced race was on this planet and disappeared, or as some say extraterrestrials may have given us a hand.
